Everything you wanted to know about the game

Broadening your knowledge of poker is always a good thing (the same as knowing how to change a car wheel, it can always help), and if you are not quite sure how to play "Omaha" poker than keep on reading, and you can become a "super gun" at "Omaha".

The difference between "Omaha" poker and hold'em

If you know how to play "hold'em", you will be able to master "Omaha" quite easily.
If you have forgotten a little about the rules of "hold'em", we suggest a short review with the help of the basic Texas "hold'em" guide.
Skim quickly through the above guide and then return to this page in order to understand the differences in the "Omaha" game.

Like "Texas hold'em", the objective in "Omaha" is to obtain the best possible card combination of the ones you have been dealt and the ones which are revealed on the table.
Until now, exactly like "hold'em", but from here on things change a bit…

As you know, in "Texas hold'em" every player receives two cards which are revealed only to him, before the five common cards which are dealt and exposed to every one.
In "Omaha" every player receives four cards (which only he can see). But contrary to "hold'em" where you can make any combination between your cards and the exposed table cards in order to obtain the best combination, in "Omaha" you have to use two of your cards together with three of the exposed cards on the table. In conclusion, in "Omaha" you have to use two of your four cards together with three of the five exposed table cards.

Apart from the above rule, the game is handled in exactly the same way as "Texas hold'em", with the same "Blind" structure and betting rounds.
If you are still not proficient and knowledgeable about all the rules, you can review the guide on "how to play Texas hold'em".
